I first met Jane in 1976 when I applied to work at the Waterloo Regional Police. After being hired I caught up with Jane and we had a chance to talk. Together we figured out that her father’s company, Kissner Milling, had supplied feed to my father’s family farm, The Weber Farm, on Highland Road West, in Kitchener. Once we realized we were both old Kitchener families we were fast friends with a lot in common. Jane and I would still catch up over lunch even after we were both retired. Jane had such a zest for life and made you feel like you were the only person in the room. Til we meet again.

My condolences to the Kissner Family. Jane was a wonderful young lady with a beautiful smile and personality. When you met Jane in the hallway of Police Headquarters, she always took the time to stop and talk with you. Well Heaven has gained another beautiful Angel. RIP my friend

Jane was an exceptional woman. She worked for my Dad (Harold Basse) for many years and my Dad said she was trustworthy, efficient, and so dependable. My Dad and our family also knew her as someone that was so much more than that. She was not only an Executive Assistant, but someone who cared about and respected us. Jane went out of her way to protect us and keep us all informed, even after my Dad’s death. My Mom definitely had a special relationship with Jane. I saw Jane once a month when I went to meetings for work at the retirement home that Jane‘s Mom lived. She always had a kind word and an enthusiasm for life. She will certainly be missed.

Jane was the backbone for my Father Harold Basse (former Chief of Police). She was extremely professional, efficient and reliable. As well as caring ,very respectful always calling my Dad “Chief”. Would always have the coffee brewing to help keep everyone on their toes! She will be missed…..

On behalf of the Waterloo Regional Police Retirees Association please accept our heart felt condolences on the passing of Jane. Jane was a true professional and a pleasure to deal with. She could be frustrating at times when she did her job of "filtering the fluff" in order to keep the Chief's life manageable but that was one of her functions. The job of Chief of Police and the entire organization was better for her presence. God's speed Jane.
