"We sorrow not as those who have no hope, for we believe that because Jesus died and rose again, those who are asleep in Jesus will some day rise again too." 1 Thess. 4:13-14 (my wording) May that hope comfort each of you and give you the strength to go on until we all see Jesus face to face. That will be a wonderful day. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Ruth

There comes along in a person's life only a very few times, the opportunity to see true love in action. My lifetime of growing up was a chance for me to view the true love between my father Doug and my mother Greta. They both shared a vision of what they wanted for their children. While their lives together were not easy, yet they were filled with love and laughter. Short on the money side, yet our life together was long on the memories. Dad and Mum could make the strangest things into games, and before we would know it, we were having a blast and spending not a penny! Material things didn't matter for our family. Mum and Dad showed us all how to be satisfied with little, and to be thankful for what we did have. Dad could turn his hand to anything, and often the words heard immediately after 'whoops!' were "Daddy - fix!" Dad would indeed fix it and often make it better than new. Dad made his own hand lotion for the cold Quebec winters. He called it DDDDD - Doug Draper's Delectable Dew Drops. Fancy it wasn't, but effective it was. That was Dad to a T. I will miss him dreadfully, but am so thankful his pain and disability are over.

Rick & I were so sad to hear of our Uncle Doug's passing--yet there is a measure of Joy in knowing he is Home with his Saviour. We will never forget our visit to you and the wonderful time of fellowship we shared. I, Cathy, only met Uncle Doug & Aunt Greta the once but it was a real family connection that was made and kept. At this time we share your grief; it is never easy to lose a much loved parent. What a comfort to know you will have many happy memories to dwell on. We will pray for strength for all of the family in the days ahead...especially you Aunt Greta. We love you all. Richard & Cathy
