Obituary of Barbara Chowan

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Grand River Hospital on Friday, October 28, 2011, at the age of 77. Originally from St. John's, Newfoundland, she was the beloved wife of Arthur Chowan for 60 years; loving mother of Keith (Suzanne), Dianne, Sandy, David, and Sherry (Brad). Devoted nanny of Jamie (Malynda), Raymond, Kimmy (Donny), Tracey (Mathias), Ashley (Randy), Bradley, Brandan and Melissa, and six great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Gord and Josie, Melba and Manfred, Don and Carol, Robert and Darlene, and Mary and Eugene. She was an active member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Joseph's RC Church, Kitchener, always thinking of our friends and neighbours who needed a helping hand. Predeceased by her parents, Jim and Georgina Joseph. Barbara's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 1 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo with Parish Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Morning prayers will be on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at 9:20 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's RC Church, 148 Madison Ave. S., Kitchener at 10 a.m. with Fr. Denis Wilkinson as Celebrant. Interment in Memory Gardens will be followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
