Opa was a gift from God and I'm very thankful for the privilege of being his grandson. He was loving, kind, and generous. A man who led by example and feared the Lord. I love you Opa and I look forward to seeing you again.

The angels are always near to those who are grieving,
to whisper to them that their loved ones are safe in the hand of God.
You have gone home where you belong, in heaven with your father. Rest in Peace Opa, you will be remembered and loved always.

dear Konnerth family: I was sad to hear about your dad's passing -and then one week later, we lost my dad, the day after we celebrated his 90th birthday and said our goodbyes. It was a precious and blessed time. The Funeral was yesterday at Henry Walser. Mr. Drewitz also died this year and it must be a year that God is calling his special strong godly men home. All the best - love Juliane (from over 30 years ago but I remember kind people always!)

Opa , you showed us how to live by Christian values , not by mere words but by your everyday actions . You truly are a man of God and now we are certain you are at His side .

Always fair and always instilled in us to be kind and honest and considerate to others. Love you forever and always pop. We will miss you more than words can say but it gives us comfort to know that you are now at peace. Your struggle was very hard at times. (Your Princess)

We have a blessed hope recorded in God's own Holy Word, that "absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord". Our loved one is with the Saviour now, where there is perfect rest. And there is comfort in the thought that a loving God knows best.
Pop, you fought the good fight. You were a faithful servant.

Show me the way,
not to fortune and fame,
Not how to win laurels
or praise for my name-
But Show Me The Way
to spread "The Great Story"
That "Thine is The Kingdom
and Power and Glory."

My dearest Opa, It doesn't seem possible that later this morning we will be attending your funeral. You seem so close, and the memories I have of you are implanted on my mind, as if they just happened yesterday. I remember picking out your favourite reclining chair with you, Aunt Erika, and Dad. How you loved that chair. We would come over to visit in the evening, and you would be sitting in your reclining chair in your bedroom. We would usually come in the evening so we'd watch Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy with you. You used to wear these glasses, somewhat like sunglasses, but you wore them inside to help with the glare from the television. These are small memories but they mean so much more now that you have gone home. It seems strange to walk past your bedroom, and not see you there. So many good times we spent in the house you built on Meadowvale. I look back fondly and remember each and every one of them. I remember when Becky and I were teenagers and used to wear nailpolish, you once said to us, "I think there's mold on your nails." You were teasing us for wearing green on our nails. Though I have a lifetime of memories with you, the most lasting ones have developed over the 23 years of knowing you. Knowing and understanding the love you have for the Lord and from that love, the great love you have for your children, grandchildren, and church family. Opa, you left a legacy behind, and for that I am truly thankful. You are a great man. One that I will always love dearly. You hold a special place in my heart Opa, for there has never been, nor will there ever be, an Opa like you. I love you Opa!

Dear Hilde, Rick and family: I want you to know my heart goes out to you and your family. Losing a father who has been a part of your life for so many years is very difficult... "May the love of those around you, help you through the days ahead". Here is a poem I am sending to you. Your friend and co-worker, Elaine WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME When tomorrow starts without me And I'm not there to see If the sun should rise and find your eyes All filled with tears for me. I wish so much you wouldn't cry The way you did today While thinking of the many things We didn't get to say. I know how much you love me As much as I love you And each time you think of me I know you'll miss me too. But when tomorrow starts without me Please try to understand That an angel came and called my name And took me by the hand. And said my place was ready In heaven far above And that I'd have to leave behind All those I dearly love. But when I walked through heaven's gates I felt so much at home When God looked down and smiled at me From His great golden throne. He said, "This is eternity And all I've promised you" "Today for life on earth is past But here it starts anew." I promise no tomorrow For today will always last And since each day's the same way There's no longing for the past. So when tomorrow starts without me Don't think we're far apart. FOR EVERY TIME YOU THINK OF ME I'M RIGHT THERE IN YOUR HEART
