Obituary of Andrew Konnerth

"FATHER INTO THY HANDS I COMMEND MY SPIRIT." -Luke 23:46 Went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 surrounded by his loving family in his 85th year. Andrew was born on January 1, 1927 in Medias, Transylvania. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his beloved wife Regina, with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage on November 17, 2011, and his children, Anne, Andy, Erika, Hilde and her husband Rick Holowaty, Johnnie and his wife Christine, and Ronald. Loved, treasured and never forgotten by six grandchildren, Rebekah, Andrew and Rachel Konnerth; Katie, David, Jason and his wife Jessica Holowaty. Also survived by his sister Katharina Roth, brother-in-law Hans Gassman and their families of Germany. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and his church family. Predeceased by his infant daughter Katharina, his parents Maria and Andreas and his sister Anni Gassman of Germany. Rev. Konnerth was the founding pastor of the German Gospel Church and served as pastor for over thirty years, devoting his life to God in ministry. He was also the owner of A. Konnerth Construction and Son. In celebration of his life, the family will receive relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, December 4th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Philip F. Kniesel officiating. Interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo will be followed by a reception at the funeral home.
