As you all know I always called Melissa "hotti B". Due to the fact.....She was a perfect person. Melissa always amazed me in every way. I have always told her that I loved her every time we saw each other and we always puckered up and gave each other a kiss on the cheek and a hug. Melissa is in my thoughts every day 2 years later. She will never leave our hearts and thoughts and is missed dearly. Love you Hotti.

Dear Melissa: I watched you grow up from a tiny tot who had Daddy wrapped around her finger. With a look, and a grin, you melted his heart.I watched as you and John played in the yard. I watched you grow into a very active teenager who loved music, dancing and swimming in the lake. I watched you find a man to love and cherish when you met David. I watched you grow into a loving mother of two fine children. I watched as you delighted in going Trick or Treating with the kids. I watched as you planned Christmas with such care and thoughtfulness. Every occasion had your special touch. I watched you build a career and the ease with which you were able to tackle any hurdle that was put in front of you. I watched you smile, laugh and love all of your family members. Your care and thoughfulness was evident in every task and challenge. Time with you was far too short. Your legacy will live on in Reilly and Phoenix. You can rest assured that that your family will be supported and cared for by all of your extended family. You have left an impact on every life you have touched

Melissa was the most amazing young woman! Her signature smile would brighten even the most hectic day! She had a way of brightening your work day without realizing she was even doing it. Her happiness was so contagious that in no time you were smiling along with her while she was chatting with you.
To see her interact with Reilly and Phoenix was so heartwarming. She was a very dedicated mother who loved her children so passionately. You could see it in the way she would read them a book while they were in the waiting room....I could never decide whose eyes were sparkling more hers or her childrens.
She took the time to explain things to them and help them understand......how many children their age come into the office hop up onto the chair and let you give them a flu shot and smile and talk to you while you are doing it? Melissa had a magical way of making Reilly and Phoenix believe that even getting a needle was no big deal. She was so awesome with them as is David!
Her enthusiasm for life, her kind caring ways, and love for others will live on in Reilly and Phoenix! God bless.

From the first moment we met in Mrs Brenner's Kindergarten class you were a loving, giving, loyal, kind hearted friend. You were always there to lend your hand and give your always wise advice. We have shared many great memories together over the past 27 years which I will carry with me always. You will always hold a special place in my heart. You accomplished many great things in your life, you have a wonderful family, a loving husband and two beautiful children. You loved life and lived it to the fullest. You never took things for granted and had no regrets. I have always looked up to you and always will. Someone once told me, a friend is like a four leaf clover, lucky to have and hard to find. Somehow I found you and now I realize just how lucky I am. You are my angel, forever in my heart. I love you and will miss you my friend. Thank You

These next couple weeks are going to be the hardest for all of us, but I thought I'd share something with you that I was just reflecting on... something that encapsulates exactly the kind of person Melissa was.
I grew up playing and teaching guitar. But - and I'm sure most of us can relate to this - our passions often fall on the backburner as the hustle of everyday life begs our attention. Most days my guitars just sat in the corner collecting dust. It sucked. Especially because I still hadn't mastered my two favourite songs ever composed.
I mentioned this in passing to Melissa, and she was quick to lend some advice. In her typical pragmatic approach, she broke it down for me and and reminded me how anything can be accomplished if we take small, careful steps. Our goals - whether personal, academic, whatever - are always within our grasp if we just commit them, and make them a priority. We become better people in the process, and we are rewarded with a deeper sense of accomplishment in our lives.
While I still haven't mastered those two songs - I'm on the road to being there. And as it turns out, I was able to share my love of classical guitar with Melissa - who spent her youth playing as well (she could relate to the frustration of inhuman picking patterns).
Melissa was always our biggest fan. She touched each and everyone of us, and her spirit will carry on through us all. I may have only known her a short while, but she was an excellent mentor, and an even better person.

My sweet, sweet Melissa. I know I’m going to repeat what the majority of people will say… that you truly are an amazing person. And not just at one thing… at virtually everything! For me, you have been a phenomenal friend… one of the very best I could ever ask for. Right from the beginning you have been loyal, dependable, honest, trustworthy and supportive. Over our 16 year friendship we have been inseparable to separated. But no matter how long it had been, whenever we got together we easily fell right back into the ‘good ol’ days’. We laughed, talked, hugged and loved. But most importantly we knew… we knew that not time, distance nor everyday-life would ever diminish what we have. Today I am adding death to that list. I will always smile when I think of you, than cry when I remember that I will never see you again. But, you will forever remain in my heart and mind, and I will always hold our memories close. Now, you know I unfortunately don’t pray very often… but for you, I promise to pray. I will pray for Reilly and Phoenix - your beautiful and remarkable children. I pray that they always know and feel your strength, love and compassion. They have amazing people all around them - the BEST. There is no doubt that they will grow to be just as amazing as their beautiful mommy. I will pray for your husband. Not only because he is just as amazing as you, but because we all love him tremendously. I pray that David also feels your strength and love, and that he takes good care of his own mind and spirit - Not only for your children, but also for himself. I will pray for your mom, dad and John. For many years they felt like my extended family and I love them dearly. I pray they can take strength from each other, and from those around them. They raised a remarkable woman in you, and I’m sure they will do wonders in helping David with their beautiful grandbabies. I will pray for the entire Kieswetter and Flynn families – many of whom I know and love. They were blessed with an amazing cousin, niece, granddaughter, sister-in-law and daughter-in-law… and were given a rare opportunity to witness a true angel-in-the-making. I pray they keep hold of you in their hearts forever. Finally, I will pray for you my sweet Melissa. I pray you have the opportunity to guide your babies through life by gently pointing them in the right direction. I pray you can watch each milestone from above with a proud smile on your face. I pray you are able to reunite with loved ones you’ve already lost, while you wait patiently for us to follow. Melissa, I love you more than words can express. More than I really even knew until now. Your time with us was far too short, and it seems so unfair that you had to leave. But please know, your impact was not small, your presence will always be felt, and your memories will never be forgotten.
