Obituary of Betty Ferguson
Betty Ferguson, born in Cedar Valley (Erin Township) passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre on Friday, December 23, 2011 in her 93rd year.
Predeceased by her father Kirby Tarzwell, mother Amy (nee Batchelor), infant brother Edward and Paul (Mary) of Creston, BC. Survived by brother Donald (Elayne) of Didsbury, AB.
Wife of the late Graham (1995) for over 50 years. Dedicated mother to Roderic (Frances) of Midland, Daniel, Jane Ferguson Ballantyne (Ted) and William (Dianne) all of Kitchener-Waterloo. A loving grandmother of Jamie (Marta), Katie (Sylvain), Amy, Heather, and Ted Jr. Honoured with four great-grandchildren Alexandre, Simon, Miles, and Erica.
Betty graduated from MacDonald Institute - Ontario Agricultural College (now the University of Guelph) in 1939 as a dietary technician. She was very proud of this accomplishment. Along with being an efficient homemaker she worked in the family's Home Hardware businesses in Fergus and Kitchener.
She was a forthright individual and will be sorely missed by family and friends.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Betty with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, December 28 from 5- 6p.m. The funeral service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 6 p.m. A reception will immediately follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place.
