Obituary of Kenneth Forwell
Passed away, peacefully with family present, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at the age of 83.
Ken is survived by his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth (nee Cook); daughters, Susan (Peter Hupfau), Lorie (Bill Clark) and their son Jake; sons, Rodney (Trish), Bart (Inge) and their daughters Amanda, Kristine, Dianna, and K.G. (Andrea) and their sons Carson and Chase, as well as his extended family . Ken is also survived by his sister, Ruth (Gerald) Schnarr and brothers, Ed (Betty Jane) and Leo (Stella).
Predeceased by his parents, Leo and Mary (Blay) Forwell; brothers, Roland, Walter, Norbert, Art, Joseph, Donald, Raymond; and sisters, Annamarie, Margaret, Catherine, and Madeleine.
Ken was a butcher, owning and operating Forwell's Country Meat Market for 35 years. In his younger years, he enjoyed horseshoes, racquetball, curling, and later enjoyed golfing at Dundee and Foxwood Golf Clubs. Ken was a volunteer driver with the Adult Recreation Centre in Waterloo. He will be remembered as an honest, hardworking man with a wonderful sense of humour and a devout Catholic who dearly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren.
The Forwell family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, January 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Monsignor Edward Sheridan as celebrant. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow.
