We are living now in Collingwood and just heard that Peter died. What a shock! Our sympathies go out to you Joanne and your whole family. I have many, many fond memories of working with Peter and all the students, staff members and families that he cared so much about in his positive, encouraging way. The year Peter hired me at Harold Wagner PS (1992), I found out I was pregnant. I was afraid to tell my new boss that I would need to go on maternity leave that spring. Peter immediately put me at ease and said that family comes first and he was very happy for me. He taught me the importance of making family a priority and to look at the big picture. Peter was a kind and compassionate man. He always demonstrated good humour as he "cruised" down the halls, and always had a joke to tell. My sympathies go out to his family.

Peter was my first consumer when I started with ILC. He was delightful to work with, I always enjoyed my visits to the Kleinschmidt home. His bright spirits and great attitude will be greatly missed.

I loved my years at Harold Wagner School with Peter. We had a marvelous staff and a fun time every day. So many laughs and chats in the office or staff room - concerts, assemblies, science fairs, sports in the gym and especially our frequent Harmony Lunch burgers and fried onions brought in and relished in Peter's office - just 3 of us - banned from the staff room

Our thoughts and prayers are with Joanne, Leah and Paul and their families. Peter was always such a kind, gentle, compassionate man. He made Harold Wagner School the best school to work at as a teacher and to attend as a student. I remember a lot of laughing, and fun conversations, science fairs, concerts, and Harmony hamburgers in the staff room at lunch - making the whole place smell of fried onions and greasy burgers - until finally we Harmony lovers were banned to Peter's office for our regular lunch specials.That smile of Peter's resonates with me a brings back so many memories of such a great man, great school and incredible staff. My heart was saddened to hear of the passing of Peter. He was a welcoming Principal to so many of us when we were new teachers to the profession. He was always kind, caring, humourous, and looked out for the well being of each and every one of us..and each and every student too. I will always remember his funny jokes, his stories about Blue Jays games and of course, the lunch order from the Harmony Lunch. He was a great man who left his impression on so many. Peter hired me at Harold Wagner in 1992. I got pregnant that fall and was afraid to tell my new boss that I would need to go on maternity leave that spring. Peter immediately put me at ease and said that family comes first and he was very happy for me. He had his priorities in check and I have always taken that with me. Peter would cruise down the halls with a smile on his face and he always had a silly joke to tell. I think all of us from Wagner have that family feeling when we think of our years with Peter.
