Obituary of Peter Kleinschmidt

Passed away peacefully, due to complications from Multiple Sclerosis at St. Mary's Hospital, on Friday, January 27, 2012. Peter is survived by his beloved wife Joanne, his loving children Leah (Ned) Pullen, Paul (Anna) Kleinschmidt, his precious granddaughters Diana and Ella and wonderfully supportive sister- and brother-in-law, Judy and Jim Leishman. Peter will also be lovingly remembered by his sister Susan Fulcher, brother-in-law Jamie Lafferty, sister-in-law Brigid Kleinschmidt as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Bob and Betty Kleinschmidt and his brother David. Peter was a respected teacher and principal with the WRDSB until his retirement after 34 years. He cherished his friendships with the many people with whom he worked: members of the school board, other administrators, teachers, and members of the school community. For many years, Peter was actively involved at St. Mark's Lutheran Church and with the Independent Living Center. Peter and his family have always been deeply grateful for the friendship, loving support and quality of care provided by the Independent Living Center. Friends are invited to share their memories of Peter with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 825 King St. West, Kitchener on Thursday, February 2, at 11:00 am with the Rev. Nancy Kelly officiating. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Cremation has taken place and interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery at a later date. Condolences for the family and donations to the M.S. Society of Waterloo Region, St. Mark's Lutheran Church or the Independent Living Centre would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
