Once.... A young girl. Picking apples, learning to knit, exploring the barn. Excited for each and every visit to Gramma's house. Then.... A little older. A lot farther away. Cherished phone calls, letters and postcards. Trips across the country for anticipated visits. Now.... A woman with children of her own. Tearful and with a heavy heart, but grateful for such wonderful times and warm memories. Love and miss you, Gramma.

Gramma was always very close in my heart although the miles separated us greatly. I have wonderful memories of the farm as a child, picking apples, playing crokinole. As an adult also, bringing my husband to meet her, still playing crokinole! I will miss her very much, I love you gramma.

My mother-in-law had a sense of humor. It was evident from the beginning. After Pat & I eloped he called her (collect) saying Mom I just got married to which she replied "to who"-- what a hoot!! I like to think Pat inherited her unique sense of humor. Johanna will be greatly missed by her west coast family but those we love will never be forgotten. Rest in peace gentle lady
