Obituary of Nelson Weber
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in his 94th year.
Nelson joins his first wife Lovina in heaven who predeceased him in 2003. He is survived by his second wife, Anna Shantz, loving children Marcy (Aki) Ninomiya, Clare (Linda) Weber, daughter-in-law Helen Weber, Brenda (Murray) Calder, Donna (Paul Tomlin) Weber, Susan (Bill) Schmitz, and numerous cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will also be remembered by his brother Aden Weber (Martha), sister Lena Wideman and sister-in-law Norma Weber.
Nelson is also predeceased by his son Robert Weber, grandchildren Bryan Joseph Schmitz and Pamela Snyder, brothers Levi and Edgar Weber and sister-in-law Elsie Weber.
Nelson's life of farming involved the operation of Conestogo Dairy and Weber's Turkey Farm. He was a peace-loving and gentle man who lived out his Christian values. He generously shared his gifts and talents with numerous organizations including St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, MEDA, ROOF, House of Friendship, refugee sponsorships, and Turkey Board of Ontario.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Nelson with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 7- 9 pm and Wednesday, April 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Jacobs Mennonite Church, 1310 King Street, St. Jacobs on Thursday, April 26 at 2:00 pm with Pastors Mark Diller Harder and Kevin Derksen officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Cremation and interment at St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery will take place at a later date.
