Obituary of Arthur Murphy

Passed away at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital in Kitchener on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Helen for 47 years. Much loved father of John Murphy and his wife Kelly; grandpa (Papa) of Ella, Ava, Finn, and Eden. Dear brother of Tom (Joan) of Vancouver, Bill (Dorothy) of Welland, and Ralph of Kitchener. Predeceased by sisters, Mary Krpan, Margaret LaViolette, Mildred Murphy, Eleanor Gaffney and Elizabeth Grace. Art farmed near Dublin for over 30 years and later worked in London for Coca-Cola. He was very involved in parish life at St. John the Divine (London) serving as an usher and an active member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Arthur during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, April 25 from 3:30 - 5:30 and 7 - 9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Teresa RC Church, 44 Leonard St., Kitchener on Thursday, April 26 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Tom Moisan as Celebrant. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow the interment at St. Teresa Parish Centre. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to ESK-OMI Missions or St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Teresa of Avila Parish Kitchener by contacting the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
