Obituary of John Carter

Carter, John It is with great sadness that the family of John Robert Carter, age 60, announces his passing after a courageous battle with prostate cancer, on Friday May 18, 2012, surrounded by his loving family and his dogs. John was born April 4, 1952 in Edmonton Alberta to the late Jack and Marie Carter. After taking some time to travel, John attended Ryerson University where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. John worked in the travel industry in Toronto for several years before founding HomeFit Exercise Equipment in 1985. He was well recognized for his catchy radio and television advertisements. His parents Jack and Marie and his brother Bill predecease John. He leaves behind, Linda Tennant, mother to Riley and Will; his partner Cindy Jonescu; two sisters, Barbara (Jim) Elliott of Salt Spring BC, and Carol (Ray) O'Brien of Columbia SC. He also leaves behind mother in law Granny K ; sister and brother in law, Carolyn and Lloyd Wilson of Bowmanville and sister in law Deborah Tennant of England, along with many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life for John will be held on Sunday June 10th, 2012 at Deer Ridge Golf Club, 200 Deer Ridge Drive, Kitchener, between the hours of 3 and 7 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Grand River Cancer Centre, St Mary's men's health program and the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada.
