I still think of you Gerry …. it’s hard to believe it’s been twelve years. We shared such great times together in Montreal …. Les Canadiens, Crazy 8 tournaments, parties at Mike Dorey’s, hockey tournaments in Sherbrooke, Roman Fedoryka, Andy Nakolepszy, Mark Fagan. Miss you!

My goodness dad, only a few days away from 10 years since we lost you. I can't even believe it's been a decade already. Still feels like just yesterday. My God I miss you. Carolyn, Easton, Joshy and I visited you recently and decided to take a trip down memory lane and visit the house on Old Stone Rd. You won't believe it, but it's gone. Whoever purchased it recently demolished our home for the lot to rebuild. It was heartbreaking to say the least. So many memories we built in that house. Easton is a splitting image of you. He shares all of your characteristics and manurisms. He talks about you often and we make sure both him and Joshy know all about you and mom. This July will mark the 28th anniversary since mom passed. It seems so surreal. I miss you both so so much. I miss your wisdom and so often turn to you in search of advice. You always had the answer. I miss my bestfriend so deeply. I hope you and mom are happy and found peace together in God's kingdom. Enjoying a Bud in your castle in the sky. I love you forever and always. Gone but never forgotten. Xoxoxoxo ♡♡♡

They say time heals all but this feeling of sadness and emptiness just doesn't seem to fade. I miss you more and more with every passing day.
There are so many things I wish I could talk to you about and things to share with you.
Carolyn had her son and named him Easton Everest William Lindsay in memory of you. He is just so precious and incredibly gorgeous. He shares so many of your characteristics and sometimes I find myself just mesmerized by the resemblance. I really wish you could have met him but I know you and mom are watching us all from above.
I hope that your paradise is everything that we imagined it would be and that you and mom have found peace and happiness together again.
You are the most amazing father a daughter could have ever been blessed with. We are so lucky to have had two of the most incredible parents who taught us everything we know. I will love you both forever and always.
Gone but never forgotten
Until we meet again xoxoxo

Dad, it's been over two years since you passed but somehow still feels like just yesterday. I miss you so very much and you are always in my thoughts. Carolyn is having a baby soon and I wish you could be here because I know you would have played such a huge role in her child's life. You are going to be a grandfather and we will make certain to share all of our memories with this child because he/she needs to know just how amazing of a father and person you are. You will never be forgotten and live forever in our hearts. I love and miss you so very much. Xoxoxo

Dad,
I can't believe how quickly the past 2 years have flown by, it feels like we lost you just yesterday. Josh & I think of you so very often and miss you so much. Josh likes to go to the cemetery and sit on the bench by your headstone, and sip on a Budweiser while chatting to you. :)
You are going to be a Grandfather DAD!!! We are having a baby due on Laura's b-day, December 30, 2014. I wish you and mom were here as I know you both would have played such a big role in our child's life. Aunt Barb has taken the role of "Grandma" which we are so thrilled about and I know she is super excited for this baby to join our lives. He/She is a very active baby and loves to keep me up all night long, moving and kicking. :) My belly continues to grow everyday. Laura and I can't wait to share all of our memories of you and mom with this baby. I will make sure he/she knows who you were and how much of an impact you had on all of our lives.
I Love and Miss You Dearly Dad!!! You are always in my heart

Some say time is a healer....but I take time to remember good times in my life...we have time now being a baby boomer...Gerry always stood out in a crowd; being a friend from sports and continued up and until his passing. I remember him as vibrant and outgoing and always going out of his way to say hi....you didn't have to know him in circles....but his name always came up in a conversation...ie.."Wonder where Gerry is living now?"..."We had good times together!" and finally wish we could get together again.....well if time and providence is the keeper of memories we will always meet one day on the lacrosse field....You must have been a wonderful husband and father....and of course a friend along the trail of life...May God Bless you all and enjoy the fun you had and always in his name...

I was feeling nostalgic and was thinking of my best experiences in highschool so Gerry came to mind. I looked him up and was so sad to read about his passing. I was his prom date in highschool and will always treasure that memory as well as the fun times we had in highschool. He was on the basketball team and a buddy of my brother Cam and so many others...everybody loved being around "Gus" who always cheered everybody up with his sense of humor and warm personality. My sincere condolences to his family in friends.

I looked forward to seeing him last year and he will be so fondly remembered and toasted at the next reunion. My condolences to his daughters on losing such a good hearted and classy father. His good friends Augi, Chuck and Ron kept us informed about his battle and I thank you for that.

I was heartbroken to hear the news, and I want you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I feel priviledged to have worked with Gerry and to have become his friend, and will always remember him as an exceptionally special and giving person. There is a great void to be filled by Gerry's passing, but I know that the depth of love that you and your family share for each other and for Gerry will pull you through. Honor his memory with that love and the wonderful memories you share of him. May God bless and comfort you and your family. Catherine

Dear Laura and Carolyn,Barbara and mother Blanchard, What can one say at a time such as this? I can only express and assure you that I am and will continue to pray for Gerry, Helen and grandfather Blanchard. Oh! The memories come flowing back. I remember how Gerry and I would walk on 8th street to go to elementary school and we would split at Aldolfus and go separate ways to different schools. Then walking the same way to attend St. Lawrence High school for two years before I moved to Lachine. All the times our freshman and sophmore years, our participation in the cadet corps, the parties at Mike Doyle's on Montreal street. the meetings with guys in the key club,etc... Our reconnecting after graduation and his coming to work and live in Montreal for Sun Life of Canada. The time we spent living together in a basement apartment in Montreal east. The visits from the wild bunch, led by Alan Roy from Cornwall and the numerous empty beer cans that filled the wall from floor to ceiling following the visit. Not all the time, however! Oh, then my going into the seminary and our famouns wager that if I made it all the way-$100.american. I collected in Winipeg during the cold month of January,1978. Helen was a gracious and supportive hostess and Gerry was himself. What a time we had for a week and my god was it ever cold and the volkswagon bug with the gas heater. Then as time moved on and babies came, transfers and changes of jobs, and the normal flow of life including Helen's passing in 1994. So many wonderful and genuine memories - lots to thank God for having received. I have thought of many people who also filled these times and places since I spoke with Laura on Sunday - we all have the power to touch people for good or evil - thank God Gerry was one person who tocuhed all of us for good. I will be united with all of you on Thursday at Mass. May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen. Drawing strenght from our faith we will pray for him for a while and in time we will pray with him. May the good God who loaned him to us give us the grace and consolation of His Holy Spirit. P.S. He now has a chance to speak with the participants of Gettysburg. Fahter Yvon.

When they line up the St Lawrence High School football or basketball "Saints" by "likeability" Gerry Blanchard is standing tall at the top of the list. He lit up the room when he entered and never focused on himself. In the nearly fifty years that I've known Gerry the mention of his name always included, "What a great guy!" What a wonderful legacy to leave! I thank Augi, Chuck, and the others who stood by Gerry to the end. My great respect for all of you has only grown as you stayed loyal, through thick and thin, to a special guy.
