Obituary of Gerald Blanchard

Passed away on Saturday June 23rd, at Grand River Hospital Kitchener at the age of 65. Dear friend of Peggy Brandon. Father of Laura Blanchard and Carolyn Lindsay and her husband Josh. Son of Olive and the late William Blanchard of Cornwall Ontario. Brother of Barbara (David) Petepiece; uncle to Kathryn (Andrew Dion) Petepiece and Michael Petepiece. Gerry was predeceased by his wife Betty in 1994. Brother in law to Anthony (Michelle) Lapenna, Tom (Fran) Lapenna, Rick Lapenna and Dianne Lapenna. Good friend to Randy and Debbie Groves and many others over the years. Gerry was an avid civil war aficionado, NASCAR enthusiast, New York Yankees supporter and Montreal Canadiens devotee. Friends are invited to share their memories of Gerry with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday June 27th from 2-4p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be held at 7:00pm. Morning prayers will be said on Thursday June 28th at 10:20 at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St Louis Roman Catholic Church, Waterloo with Father Buda CR as Celebrant. A reception will then be held at the funeral home.
