Obituary of Joseph Kennedy

Passed away peacefully on July 22, 2012 at St. Mary's General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, at the age of 75. Loving husband and soul mate to Ruth (nee Sills) for 50 years. Cherished father of Michael (Charlotte) and Mary Lou. Devoted grandad to Michael Patrick, Kyla, Joseph, Lauren, Jared, Luca, and Christian. Dear brother of Paul (Stephanie) and Hollie. Predeceased by his parents Dr. Ted and Ruth Kennedy, his brother Tony and sister-in-law Linda. Joe was a very successful, well-respected agent with Mutual Life of Canada for over 30 years. He was a founding member of Legal Shield/PPL in Canada and has been an Independent Associate of LegalShield since 1999. Joe was an avid skier, racquet ball player, and Blue Jay fan. He was a member of the Kinsman Club, the KW and Cambridge Chambers of Commerce and was very actively involved and dedicated in the University Catholic Community at St. Jerome's University. He was a longtime (27 years) friend of Bill Wilson. Friends are invited to share their memories of Joe with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, July 24 from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen St., Waterloo on Thursday, July 26 at 11 a.m. the Rev. Frank Ruetz CR as Celebrant. Cremation and a private family interment at Parkview Cemetery will take place at a later date.
