To Gladys and all of Willi's family; Our Sincere Sympathy to all of you. Special thanks to Gladys for phoning us. Many years ago i worked with Elsie at Boehmer's on the conrer of Charles and Ontario Sts. with Elsie. This is how we met this wonderful couple. We always had the greatest admiration for their dedication to each other and their welcoming spirit when visiting at the cottage and at 110 Dover St. Bob and Willi liked to BBQ sausage at the cottage while Elsie and i would catch up on news of where they had travelled to and what was happening with our two girls and life in Mount Forest. Although Elsie didn't like Willi to eat those sausages re health, she just smiled at the "boys" having fun. We had two little girls at that time and were entertained by the Chipmunk stealing the fruit from the table outside. What a peaceful, fun time we shared with these two friends. When Elsie was on home dialysis, we visited and were in awe how Willi managed that big machine in their basment. She was a devoted Christian which i believe helped through many difficult health issues. Her Willi would buy her fresh flowers and speak tenderly of his dear Elsie and she in return loved her Willi. He was a handy man, as you all may well know. Loved to have a good belly laugh. Over a year ago, i stopped in for a short visit. Now we regret that we didn't do that again.....life sometimes just is busy and we cannot fit in everything our minds tell us to do. We will think of the happy times and hope you treasure your memories of this special man. Life is so precious and so are friends. I was very sorry to hear of Willi's death. I was away during July and unable to visit him in hospital and could not visit yesterday. Willi bravely endured a long and debilitating disease, but retained a sense of optimism and cheerfulness throughout it always. I will miss his visits at the office.
