Obituary of Patrick McGrinder
After courageously persevering through many physical challenges, Pat has finally been given the freedom to walk a painless path.
Remembered always by his most loving family, wife Patricia, his children, Patrick "Morris" (Patti), Monica (Silvano Del Cul), Steven, Melissa (George Frengos), Mark (Jessica Greenberg), Marcy (Doug McAulay) and grandchildren, Nathan, Megan, Nicole, Joel, Jacob, Hanalei, Mia and Lulu. Also remembered by his brother Jack (Anne) and sisters Kathleen and Colleen and sister in law Iris Brunning. He was predeceased by his parents Patrick Joseph and Anne McGrinder and brothers in law Del d'Entremont, Vincent Brunning, Rev. Vern Brunning, CR, and Larry Brunning. Pat spent 10 years of his life as a Police Officer in Hamilton and later moved to Waterloo to open the third Tim Hortons franchise in Canada in 1967. His passion for hockey was instrumental in changing the colours of Waterloo Minor Hockey to what they are today. In addition to sports, Pat had a great love for gardening and animals. Pat was an early contributor to the grassroots of what is now known as the Tim Horton's Children's Foundation. He was a long time member of the Waterloo Club, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #530 and the Hamilton Police Retirees' Association.
