Obituary of Donald McDougall

Went to be with his Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2012, suddenly, at the age of 78 years. Beloved husband of Gertie (Wilker) for 51 years. Loving father of Elaine (Mel) deOliveira, and Carol (Andy) Quick. Will be sadly missed by grandchildren Tristan and Lauren deOliveira. Predeceased by grandchildren Nathaniel and Michelle Quick. Survived by his sisters, Ella Broderick of Fergus, and Reta Lees of Scarborough, and sisters-in-law, Gwen McDougall of Rockwood, and Noreen Wilker of Stratford, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Ada, his two brothers, Charles Ross and Robert, and his sister Hilda Hill. Also predeceased by his brothers-in-law Jim Hill, Robert Lees, Adrian Broderick, and Edward, Victor and Nelson Wilker, as well as, sisters-in-law Jean, Audrey, and Irene Wilker. Don and his wife founded McDougall Signs Inc. in 1970. After operating successfully for 25 years, he sold the business and retired. He also was a committed driver for Community Support Connections (RAISE) for over 15 years. He was an active and loved member of Northside Community Church and an avid player at the Wilmot (Mannheim) Crokinole Club. Visitation is at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, September 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Northside Community Church, 55 Leonard Street, Kitchener on Friday, September 7 at 11 a.m. A reception will immediately follow. Private family interment will take place.
