I shared a hospital room at Grand River with Delphine on the 6th floor in July this year. I remember how she always wanted her "wall" shut and the patient next to her kept opening it on her. She was so polite despite being annoyed by the antics of her neighbour in the bed next door. I waited until she fell asleep and then I exchanged a few words with the new patient next to her. I left the following day so I hope it got better for her. I very politely informed the lady that Delphine was there longer than any of us and her wishes should be respected.
I am sure you all know, but boy did she love her family and she was so very proud of all of you. She looked forward to her phone calls and made sure her phone was close and ready. I was only there for 2 days but what a strong kind woman.
My thoughts are with you all during this most difficult time, I only knew Delphine for a short time, but what a kind gentle soul.
