Obituary of Bruce Chambers

CHAMBERS, Bruce It is with great sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Bruce James Chambers surrounded by loving family members on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the age of 90. Bruce was born in Guelph and grew up on a farm in Eramosa. He dedicated his career to teaching and being a principal for over 35 years. He was a charter member and actively involved in the life of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Kitchener. Many happy summers were spent with families and friends at the cottage on Bird Lake. Predeceased by parents Henry and Eleanor (Pattison) Chambers, sisters Irene Batterman, Pearl Chambers and brother George. Lovingly remembered by beloved wife Merna (nee Duval), and children Jim, Cheryl von Farra (Phil) and Scott (Heather). Bruce will be missed by grandchildren Chris, Stephanie, and Brittany von Farra, Kristen, Justin and Andrew Chambers, Justin and Lauren Cober. Chosen grandchildren Jorge, Diego, Carol, and Edwin Arce, Kanika Tan, Lakhena and Socheeta Sam. Also missed by nieces and nephew Carol Chitovas (Mahyar), Barb Dabrowski (Tom), Helen Todd (Terry), Stephen Chitovas (Ron), Joyce Chambers, Ruth Lawson, and Sandra Gallipeau. Visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 248 Westmount Rd. N., Kitchener on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev Mark Gedcke officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the church. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
