Obituary of Arthur Chowan

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at St. Mary's General Hospital on Friday, November 9, 2012, at the age of 83. Originally from Prince Edward Island, he was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Chowan (Joseph) for 60 years; loving father of Keith (Suzanne), Dianne, Sandy, David, and Sherry (Brad). Loved Hoppy of Jamie (Malynda), Raymond, Kimmy (Donny), Tracey (Mathias), Ashley, Bradley, Brandan and Melissa, and eight great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Fred (Joyce), Jim (Linda), and Vernon (Emily) Chowan, and brother-in-law of Diane and Rose. He was an active member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul at St. Joseph's RC Church, Kitchener, always thinking of our friends and neighbours who needed a helping hand. Predeceased by his parents, William and Catherine Chowan, a sister Ann and by brothers, Joe, Bill, and John. Hoppy's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo with Parish Prayers at 8:30 p.m. Morning prayers will be on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 9:15 a.m. followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph's RC Church, 148 Madison Ave. S., Kitchener at 10:00 a.m. with Father Tom Vermiglio as Celebrant. Interment in Memory Gardens will be followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
