Obituary of Rodney Kyle
Passed away on Monday December 3, 2012 in his 68th year. Loving husband of the late Susan Kyle (Hislop). Survived by sons Philip and Thomas, and daughter-in-law Izumi. Loving Grandpa to Ben and Kiyomi Kyle. Sadly missed by brother James Kyle and sisters Louise Richardson (Terry) and Janice Minna. Predeceased by his parents Harold and Ruth Kyle, and his sister Anne Brown. Fondly remembered by several nephews and nieces across Canada and abroad.
Rod was born near Ayr Ontario and lived in Paris Ontario and Brantford before graduating from the University of Toronto School of Engineering and becoming an officer in the Royal Canadian Artillery. Rod and Sue were married in 1967 and began a series of postings throughout Canada, United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. Rod cherished many deep friendships, forged in love of adventure and common effort. After 34 years in the military, Rod started a new career at Raytheon Canada in Waterloo and was privileged to work with a brilliant team of staff, while continuing his curiosity in both engineering and travel. Rod will be remembered for his dedication to service, appreciation for wit, and commitment to others.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Rodney with his family during visitation from 7-9pm on Friday, December 7, at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo A funeral service to celebrate Rodney's life will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2012 . A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
