Obituary of Mark Whitney

It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Mark J. Whitney passed away peacefully at his home on February 5th as a result of a sudden and unexpected heart attack at the far too young age of 58. Mark was a loving and devoted husband and father who was unconditionally adored by the love of his life, Suzanne, and by his two wonderful daughters, Lauren and Julia. Mark is fondly remembered by his sisters, Sharon (John Robb), Shelagh (Bob Griese), his brother, Michael and his nieces and nephews, Norrah, Joe, and Jade.Mark was the beloved son of the late Joan and Leo Whitney Q.C. A lifelong resident of Waterloo, Mark graduated from the University of Waterloo and then embarked upon a distinguished career in real estate spanning over 30 years where he was liked and respected by all who knew him. Mark was known for his outgoing personality, his zest for life and his loyalty to his family, friends, and associates. He loved music and was an avid golfer at Deer Ridge Golf Course. Though his passing was far too soon, he will always remain in our hearts and memories forever. To honor Mark's wishes, cremation has taken place.
