Uncle Irish......oversized stationwagon packed with canvas tents, cooking and fishing gear, and the "tribe", lumbering down the highway hauling a boat with a merc 60. Beans, stew (Irish?)he would cook up for us.....then we would wash the metal plates in the lake using sand for scouring soap.
Irish always took an interest in myself and family...I'm sure many others benefitted likewise.
A man of many talents. Wood worker, apple grower, greenthumb gardener, knowledge seeker, plus plus plus...and passionate about everything he did.
A father proud of his ever growing family.
Irish lived a long and very productive life.
Suggest we toast him with a guiness each and every St. Paddy's day.....just one but very cold...the way he would like it!
I've enclosed a picture of a rocking chair we were given as a wedding gift in 1978......still as sturdy today as the man who gifted it.

Irish was a positive influence in my life, even when I was too young to realize it. There were learning exchanges too numerous to note; and happy images remain. I mean really, this is the man who cheerfully took on the camp-cooking duties for our families' excursions into the "wilds" of Northern Ontario. I see Irish smiling away while fussing with a huge cast iron pan set over the camp fire. Makes me smile today . . .

George was a true gentleman and when I approached him on behalf of Drayton Entertainmnet he immediately donated $10K in trusses for our new theatre in St Jacobs. We hit it off in so many other ways with friends in common and similar outlooks on life. I barely knew him but I really liked him. I trust his family has ample great memories to sustain at this time. Sincerely Neil Aitchison

Deb,Jim and family. You are not saying goodbye to George you are only saying "See you later" cherish the precious memories that you have shared while George was with you. God saw that George was tired and his work here was done so God took him home. God will be with you all to carry you through the rough times that may arise and George will be with you also just in a different way. You are in our prayers and we are with you today in spirit. Have a blessed day.

Hello - I am sorry for your loss, Uncle Irish will be missed throughout the entire family. I have missed seeing Uncle Irish over the last few years and sorry that I will not be there to join you for his service. A few years ago I spent an amazing afternoon with Mom & Dad, Uncle Irish, Uncle Ron and a few others. We met in Palmerston(I think), he shared lots of family history, toured us around the family plots and then we all had lunch together. He was an elder and mentor in our family by being a good role model for working hard, sharing his knowledge and helping others when needed. I am thinking of you in this difficult time, love and hugs Jan
