Obituary of Don Townson

March 16, 1918 to February 15, 2013 In his 95th year, passed away at the Village of Winston Park with family at his side. Loving husband to Joyce (nee Dobrindt) for 67 years. Father of Craig Townson (Jane Haack) and Kerry Joy Townson. Grandfather of Aaron Gee and Adam Gee (Genevieve). Adoring great grandfather to Alice Joyce Gee. Predeceased by his younger brother Bud Townson (Marg), Don leaves behind his sister June Holm (Hugh), and brother Clare Townson (Helen - deceased). Don was a WWII vet who led a full life but his greatest accomplishments were his love of family, friends, and his sense of humour. Don never gave up his fight against Alzheimer's and knew his family until the end. The staff at Winston Park, support workers at Robertson-Brown, and all the hospice volunteers who visited during his final days are much appreciated for their special caring. Visitation will be held at the Erb and Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. South, Waterloo, on Tuesday February 19th, 2013 from 3:00pm to5:00pm. Funeral will be held at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 29 Westmount Rd South, Waterloo on Wednesday February 20th, 2013 at 11:00am. Reception to follow in the Friendship Hall of the church.
