The Waterloo Club would like to extend condolences to the Robertson and Picard families for their loss of a loved family man. We at the Club will cherish Jack's memory as an active and long-standing member of more than 23 years. He served as our President from 1992-1994. His insight and reality check assured us that our insurance needs were met and we became a better club because of him. Jack loved our golf tournaments and we loved him for being there. Thanks for bringing to us your humour and wisdom when we needed it. You will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Robertson and Picard families. Rest in peace dear friend.

Dear Lou Paul Tish & Jan We have many fond memories of Jack, one especially comes to mind when he came for a visit to Newmarket and decided to go tobogganing with my children there was so much laughter and a few spills, even Lou gave it a try. I can smile today remembering this day. Jack, was a wonderful caring man, who did a wonderful job caring for my Aunt Lou in the last 7 years. We are proud to have known Jack and he will always be remembered. Love Kim, Pete, Matt, Ben & Emily Steenson

I have had the great pleasure of knowing Jack for 38 years. Our common friends as well as my family got together every Friday for lunch, laughter and cheer. Once or twice a year the venue was my house on the banks of the Grand River. Bobby Arnold was always the cook and he took great pride in his job. However he didn't quite drink as much as the rest of us and he always started the BBQ a little before we were ready. We kidded him when he said the hamburgers and dogs were done. "I'm still on my first beer, just turn down the heat - we'd all shout in unison". The last time we got together out here - Bob showed up with some hideous joke of an apron. (X-Mas gift) Other years, he showed up with a typical hard working grill type thing. He always brought his own. Anyway, we bugged him relentlessly about starting early and he finally said he'd had enough. With great fanfare he ripped off his uniform and threw it on the ground. Several beers later people actually started getting hungry and Jack was amongst the first. "Okay Bob, now is the time to fire up the "Q". "F$%^&#@ you", I'm on my first beer -you do it". I"ll never forget as long as I live- Jack grabbed the apron and said "I can cook better than you!". Just one problem- the strings of the apron didn't even make it half way around his back. Needless to say, we all cracked up and even offered some helpful solutions such as using some tacks that were holding pictures on the garage walls to pin the strings into his back. The end of the story is that Bobby got his job back and all ended well. I wish that my memory ended on that glorious day with the lilacs in full bloom, but it obviously hasn't. To Jack and my recently passed away father - " Time relentlessly passes without mercy, but true love can slow it almost to a crawl. This is the time I'm presently living. xoxo Scott

I am deeply saddened but also grateful that you entered my life. I have nothing but warm memories of you. Kind, gentle, caring and a great sense of humour! My sincere condolences to your family. I wish to convey my sincerest sympathy to both the Robertson and Picard families. Over the years I have shared with Jack his love of reading, his love of golf and his sense of humour.
However last but not least I have truly admired Jack for his unconditional dedication and devotion to my dearest friend Mary Lou.
May Jack as he so rightly deserves rest in peace and may both families cherish all your fond memories. Forever in my prayers
