Thanks to everyone who posted.
Mum's funeral yesterday was beautiful and I'm sure she loved it. The loss that I feel at her passing is just overwhelming. Part of me doesn't know what I'm going to do now; I relied on her love, advice, and steady judgement my entire life. I (and Laura & Declan) love you so much, mum, and we miss you.

Aunt Marion was with our family in spirit every Christmas - she never failed to send a card along with a personal note finding us as we moved around the country. She supported my choice to become a nurse - and was always there with a kindness.

Our heartfelt sympathy to each of you in the loss of your Mother.
We were neighbours for approximately 45 years. We are sorry we can't attend Marion's funeral as we are in Florida for the winter. The flag continues to fly at the corner of Alexandra and Hillcrest streets and this reminds me of Marion & Steve.

I would like to add my condolences to the family. The Airdrie family was very special to my family in my growing up years - my mom being a friend to Ida, (Marian's mom). Mom drove the children to Sunday school after Ida's death. Children from both families walked to S.S.#4 school together and had lots of good tobogganing down our hill and then over to Airdrie's where Mrs. Green always made us hot chocolate. Marian was my sister Marion's nursing colleague as well as being neighbours, so our families go back a long way. God's blessings to all of you.

We are the other "Bruce & Donna"! Neighbours of your Mom & Dad at the Lake for many great years. We bought our trailer next to them the year your Mom turned 60 & there was a big street party to celebrate her birthday. We have great memories of those years. Our deepest condolences. We are sorry we won't be at the funeral as we are still in Florida but our thoughts are with you.

We so much enjoyed Aunt Marion's trips out west to see us. It was wonderful to get to know her better over the last few years. Dad really loved sharing his passions for fishing with his sister. We will remember Aunt Marion, full of excitement, ready to catch the "big one" at Ministikiwan Lake. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

From : Donna, Bruce & Family Paul, Murray and Stuart, our sincere condolences, we share in your sorrow of losing someone you all dearly loved. There are only 4 siblings now to carry the torch from that generation. Marion will be fondly remembered by us all and we miss her already and we just spoke to her last Sat. She was fortunate to retain her keen mind, with a positive and supportive outlook while she was ever so aware of her precarious medical condition the past few years. She accepted this fate with grace and dignity and never let it stop her from leading life to the fullest right to the end. In addition to giving support wherever it was needed and to whoever needed it, she was that gracious host and an excellent guest. When she visited us in the summer of 2011, she even invited a bear to come by our yard to say hello while Donna and her were about 20 ft from it as it passed by our fence. So goodbye our dear sister, you were a joy to be with and God be with you in your new journey. {Picture in Shared Photos of Marion with Max right next to fence where Bear passed by}

They say "you can't pick your family". We were very fortunate. We didn't need to. Marion was a main part of the "Airdrie" family. She was there for everyone, always willing to help when she could. We all went to her for help, advice, good conversation, gardening tips and recipes. Her brothers "fondly" referred to her as the "warden". Someone had to keep the boys in order. We loved her a lot, will miss her and thank our lucky stars for sharing our lives with her. Love, Stan & Louise

Dear Paul, Murray, Stuart and Families: I was just speaking with you mom on the phone a couple weeks ago. We must have talked for over an hour. A call came in while we were chatting and we got cut off. She called me back and we laughed over her use of such high tech systems as "call waiting". Your mom got me caught up on everything and everyone. She made mentioned of each one of you and your families. How you were doing; the latest news about each of you; your wives children,grandchildren. Your mom was always good about listening to me when I felt I needed to "chat". We have had several good talks over the phone and she always managed to make me feel better by the end of the call. Your mom was a great person for "teaching" and inevitably with each conversation she managed to bestow some new tidbit on me. It was always subtle and definitely appreciated. Some times the advice came, as only it can, from someone who has "been there" and lived such a rich life. I hope in time, each of you will be able to remember your mom and smile over the many gifts she gave to so many. Her memory will be strong in the minds of us all. She will be in my heart. Love Brenda

Dear Paul & Karen, Murray & Rollande, Stuart & Laura and Families: It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of Aunt Marion. She was a wonderful woman who could give you the answer to any family question you may have had. I recently found a picture with 7 of the Airdrie children from SS #4 Pilkington School 1946. The names associated with some of the children were either missing or incorrect. Aunt Marion called me and told me row by who exactly who everyone was! I’m comforted to know that she is not only with Uncle Steve now, but also her brothers & sister. I’m sure she’s already telling the boys to “straighten out”. Always loved and never forgotten.

Dear Paul, Murray, and Stuart, and families, It was with great sadness that I read of the passing of your dear Mother, Marion. She was a caring and generous neighbour. She, together wtih Stefan, were such great neighbours and friends to the Voisin family. My parents enjoyed many hours together with Stefan and Marion on Hillcrest and at 'the trailer'. When my Mom was dying, Marion was our constant help - both in the hospital (she even wore her uniform there) and at home. I can remember when ever anyone was ill in our household, my Mom's first call was always to Marion for her appraisal of the situation. So often over the years I would stop in while living abroad and in K-W to visit with her and catch up on all of you. I will miss her presence - as I know each one of you and your families will. She was always so proud of each of you! She was always at the service of the neighbours on Hillcrest, and would collect funds for funeral flowers from among the neighbours (even after my Dad left the street) to be sent to the funeral home. It was a great neighbourhood to grow up in, and where each parent looked out for the other children on the street! I will keep all of you in my prayers and Masses. Our faith in the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, recently renewed in our celebration of Easter, was central to the faith life of Marion. She now shares in that risen life with her Saviour, and all her departed loved ones. Our parents are together again - this time in the Lord's kingdom. God bless you! Rev. Paul S. Voisin, C.R. Rector, St. Theresa's Cathedral, Hamilton, Bermuda Vicar General, Diocese of Hamilton in Bermuda

Your mother was a wonderful friend to me. I enjoyed spending time with her and talking with her whenever she came to Niagara to visit Paul and Karen. The two weeks we spent travel to the East coast made the trip the best one I had. I will miss her and ectend my deepest sympathy.
