I have fond memories of Len. He was always a friendly and caring person. Whenever the Brenners from Michigan drove over for a Brox Reunion with our Canadian cousins, seeing and being with Len was a highlight of our visit. He could tell jokes like no person I can recall. I remember several occasions when he told jokes all the way up to our departure to drive back to the States. In fact one time he followed our car down the driveway of his house continuing to make us roar with his humor. He was still telling another joke as we drove off waving, our sides splitting from laughter. Yes, Len was one of a kind. We really liked him. I'm sure he's a big hit there on the other side. Len, we'll never forget you.

Dear Canadian grandpa,
The sudden news of your departure came as a shock to us.
I have been blessed to cross your road and the family you founded with Helen in a country I visited for the first time. You were like my adopted family overthere and there are no words no show all my gratitude and love.
Helen and you welcomed me as if I were your child, I, a perfect stranger, and I will never be able to thank you enough for this.
You were always eager to share your life experiences with me. You always had a pun or a joke to make life look easier and funnier. You were clever and often gave sharp advice.
Above all, I remember you as someone extremely generous whose main preoccupation was to make the people around you feel happy and loved.
You had a stentor voice and a charismatic personnality. Your absence will be all the more difficult to bear as you used to occupy space like nobody.
I understand God has chosen to make you "inspect the inside of your eyelids" forever, as you used to say when you would take a nap, because he was eager to have another great man by his side. We can't blame him, even though it's hard on the ones who remain.
You will always be alive in my heart and thoughts as I will tell your story and transmit what you tought me to my kids.
All my love and support goes to your beloved wife Helen and your family. I wish I could be there, but distance doesn't make my grief lesser.
I hope your blessed soul is now with your beloved ones that left our world too early, and pray you will a gardian angel to us, poor mortals.
Lots of love to my Canadian family.
Maryse

When I think of Uncle Leonard, it is always with him talking out of one side of his mouth because he had a cigar in the other. It would be a joke, or a pun in his dry sense of humour. I also remember the pig roasts! They spoiled me for pork cooked any other way, lol. I remember as a kid, being completely awed by his room with his radio equipment in it. It just looked so cool and complicated. He was loud and energetic (nothing happened slowly around Uncle Len!) and funny. It had been way to long since I had seen him and I am sorry for that. My thoughts and prayers are with you Aunt Helen, Jen, Carol and Susan as you work through your own memories and grief.

We will miss Len and his wonderful smile. He always welcomed us into his home and always had time for everyone.. He loved his family. Chris especially remembers him at the hockey games helping Susan on centre ice trying to shoot a puck into the net with the entire audience cheering them on and spending hours walking with her in front of his house. He was very special. He will always be remembered.
