Obituary of Leonard Shantz

Passed away peacefully at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Thursday, August 22, 2013, at age 74. Beloved husband of Helen (nee Brox) for 55 years; loved father of Susan Shantz, Jennifer Hobden (Douglas), and Carol Deutschlander (Carl); grandfather of Matthew Hobden (Allison Moore) and Drew Hobden; dear brother of Carl Shantz (Martha), J. Allan Shantz (the late Clarene), Eldon Shantz (Shirley), Eleanor Hill (Emerson), and Florence Rothwell (Jim), and uncle of many nieces and nephews. Also survived by his extended family, Mick, Tracy, Emma and Lucas Affeldt, Abby Hartman, Doris Klip and family and Thomas Brox. Predeceased by his parents, Sylvanus and Catherine (nee Hintz) Shantz. Leonard is now a Silent Key (VE3AVF). He was an employee of Budd Automotive for 31 years. Friends are invited to share their memories of Leonard with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at 1 p.m. A reception will follow at the funeral home.
