God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be
He closed His arms around you and whispered, "Come with Me"
You suffered much in silence, you faith it did not bend
You faced your pain with courage until the very end.
You loved your family deeply and tried so hard to stay
But placed them in God's keeping before you went away
You said that death was not the end, there's hope beyond the grave
And you prayed we all would meet again "On Resurrection Day"
You were a loving father and grandfather and are greatly missed by us all

I'm a longtime friend of the Littles, Mary , Francis's oldest being my first friend I ever had. I have so many childhood memories I will hold dear forever from my childhood days in Barnesville.Mr Little's twinkling smile will never be forgotten. He was a giving man and helped my father out a lot back in the day. Now he and my father are watching over us all and hopefully saying " We didn't do to bad did we" RIP Mr Little,,tell my dad I still miss him.

Christmas was a special time for my brother, sister and I. It was a time to dream. We would start early in November, leafing through the pages of our two year old Sears catalogue, writing our Christmas wish lists. This usually consisted of the whole toy selection.
Mom would always find a way to remind us that Christmas was about Jesus, not about getting everything we wanted. So, filled with guilt,, by mid December, we managed to narrow our lists down to only ten things, although we knew we would only actually get one or two items on our list. It sure was nice to dream though !
I'll never forget the year I wanted a guitar. I wanted one just like my dads, a big brown acoustic guitar !
"Mom and Dad could never afford that", my brother and sisters tried to convince me. In my heart, I knew they were right. Our family didn't have a lot of money, especially for a big purchase such as a guitar. That didn't stop me though.
Mom always told us that if we were sincere, that God would answer our prayers. "That's what I'll do", I thought. I'd pray really hard. Boy did I pray ! I didn't join my brother and sisters in writing lists that year, for a guitar was all I wanted.
Christmas morning came. There was nothing under the tree that even resembled a guitar.
While fighting the tears, I tried to hide my disappointment as I opened my gifts. I didn't want to hurt mom and dad, when I knew they had done their best.
When everyone was finished opening their gifts, my dad left the room. When he came back he was holding his guitar, and on it was taped a big blue bow. When he started towards me I began to cry. I could not believe that my dad would give up his most prized possession for me. Although that guitar was far from new, it meant more to me than any thing in the world.
It meant that my dad loved me. I no longer have that guitar, but the love my father gave me that day, I will always have.

Where do I begin.... Grampy you were such an amazing man.I was so blessed to have a grampy like you... There is not one person I know out there that had a relationship with their Grandfather as I did with you!! It is going to be hard not seeing you, but I know your always with me!!! I am very thankful that I got to spend that last day with you before you passed away ... We laughed and talked forever. You even tried to save your dinner for Louie lol... The next day I was suppose to come in and write a story with you and I was ready! But things turned around over night and God needed you!! I will write the story you wanted to write with me based on the stories you had told me ... I love you grampy and I am going to miss you deeply but I look up and know you are now watching over us and are at peace. Until we meet again

A wonderful father-in-law and story teller. I never knew what adventure you would send me on when you retold a personal story to me. Sometimes it felt like we were in an old western movie or we were deep in the forest being confronted or chased by different wild life. I was always excited to find out what could possibly happen next in the story or would go home with sore cheeks from laughing so hard.
I truly did enjoy listening to you retell those personal accounts, but even more i loved to see your eyes light up as you told them and be able to witness your wonderful smile at the end of every story. Thank you, I love and miss you!

It has been many years since I last saw Francis but when I think of him I will always think of a strong suntanned face that held a ready smile and in the background will always be music and fun. Till we meet again.

So you just arrived in heaven today
Is it just as wonderful and lovely as they say?
I know you're in a better place
It's just going to be hard not seeing your face
I know you'll be watching from heaven above
And down will shine your unconditional love
You were the best grampy a granddaughter could have
You would always tell me jokes to make me smile and laugh
Your peanut butter cookies and your yummy homemade beans
Best home videos made I've ever seen
The way you would squeeze so tight when you would hug me
Now all I have left is our wonderful memories
You were so brave and such a strong man
Jesus stood by your bed and held out his hand
There's a kingdom waiting way up in the sky
You now have your wings, you're free to fly
Don't worry about us; we'll all be just fine
Cause today is your day in the kingdom to shine
There will be a day I will see you again
I will hold you in my heart and wait until then
So goodbye for now, but I will see you later
In the kingdom with Jesus our lord and savior
I love you grampy, rest in paradise
Jessy

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Uncle Francis. I wish I had known him more but distance made that impossible. I'll cherish the memories that I do have. I know he's happily reunited with his friends & family that have passed on before.

Maureen, thinking of you and your family in this time of sadness. Your Dad was a great man who could always make a person smile, even when times were tough. So, like him, keep smiling cause you know he would give you a smack if you don't!
