Obituary of Francis Little

Little, Francis Gerald After a long courageous battle with COPD, at 77, Francis Gerald Little passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario. Born in Hibernia, New Brunswick on January 22, 1936, Francis was the son of the late Lowell and Leota (Till) Little. Those who knew him well will remember him most for his sense of humour. He always had a quick come back to all those who challenged him. Francis could be described in his early years as a hard working man. Most of his early life was spent working in the woods where he worked hard to provide for his family. Later in life when he could no longer work he took pride in gardening, cooking and could always be found enjoying a game on his computer. Family was always important to Francis and held a special place in his heart. He will be missed and always remembered by his former wife and very special friend, Florine White, only son, Gerald (Muriel) of Kitchener ON, and three daughters, Mary (Dean) Shaw of Cold Lake, AB, Maureen Little and Leota Basque (Doug Hall) both of Kitchener, On, ten grandchildren, Melanie and Sheldon Shaw of AB, Lisa King and Stephen Little of NB, Douglas Golding of BC, Joshua Little of Kitchener ON, Jessica Basque of AB, Florine Basque of Kitchener ON, Michael and Brandon Little of Kitchener ON, and nine great grandchildren. Francis was predeceased by three sisters, Lena Totten, Helen Hatheway and Betty Scott, and one infant brother, Malcolm. Friends are invited to share their memories of Francis with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday September 5, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday September 6, 2013 at Parkview Cemetery, 335 University Ave E, Waterloo, at 1pm.
