Obituary of Ann Howard
It is with profound sadness that the family of Ann Howard-Nicholl announce her passing after a brief but valiant struggle with cancer. Ann passed away at the Lisaard House in Cambridge on September 24, 2013 in her 61st year.
The daughter of Fred and Flo Howard, Ann was born in Fort Erie, Ontario. The youngest member in a loving family, she spent much of her early life in Belleville, Ontario.
After training as a Registered Nurse at York Regional School of Nursing, she had a long career as a nurse and later as a Case Manager at the Kitchener-Waterloo CCAC.
Ann was the proud mother of Jenny Prince (Wes) and William Zarzycki (Andrea). Cherished grandmother to Brayden and Hanna Prince. A loving wife to Carl Nicholl, stepmother to Terry, Ted, Carl Jr., Lisa, Melanie and step grandmother to 8 Nicholls. Dear sister to Wendy Marles (Barry), Joan Howard and Gary Howard (Alexandra). A caring aunt to Brianne Howard (Corey Lynam), Rob Marles (Laura), Greg Marles (Alaina), Jamie Marles (Malisa) and 3 great nieces. Ann will also be missed by her cousins Sandra, Cathy, Judy and Martha.
Predeceased by her sister-in-law Alexander Howard and parents Frederick and Florena Howard.
Her family would like to say a special thank you to the staff on the 6th floor Oncology Department at the Grand River Hospital. The care and compassion shown to Ann was much appreciated.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Ann with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Erb & Good Chapel on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
