Obituary of William Pugh

Pugh, Rev. William Hughson September 15, 1927 - September 29, 2013 Passed away peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Saviour at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, age 86. Beloved husband of Rev. Elizabeth "Bette" nee Harper. Dearly loved father of Brian (Cheryl) Pugh, Brenda (Dennis) Halk, Beverly (Robert) Drexler and Bob (Patti) Pugh. Grandfather of Tracy (Jon) Hart, Kelly (Jon) Daniels, Rebecca (Nick) Dietrich, Jonathan (Jessica) Halk, David Halk, Jay Drexler, Blake Drexler, Cole Drexler, Robb (fiancé Amber) Pugh, Brock Pugh, Hillary Pugh and Brianna Pugh. Great-Grandfather of Evaliene Dietrich, Peyton Dietrich, Josh Hart, Ashley Hart, Chelsey Hart, Carter Daniels and Tanner Daniels. Predeceased by infant daughters Mary, Margaret and Martha Pugh his parents Frederick H. Pugh and Elizabeth P. nee Broad, brother Beverley, sister-in-law Dorothy, brother-in-law John M. "Jack" (Mary) Harper and sister-in-law Helen (Gordon) Durnan. Bill was Vice President of the Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada and after retirement went on to graduate with his Master of Divinity. He was ordained as a Baptist Minister with the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec serving in several churches in Ontario. Bill was a founding charter member of Glen Acres Baptist Church. He is also a former Chairperson of the Waterloo Region District School Board. Bill's love was his family, church, cottage and flying. Friends are invited to share their memories of Bill with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday October 2, 2013 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday October 3, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Glen Acres Baptist Church, 223 Hartwood Ave, Waterloo. Reception to follow at the church. Burial at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
