Obituary of Shirley Westlake
Born June 3, 1944, Shirley died suddenly at her home on the evening of Friday, October 4, 2013.
In her 69 years, she accomplished and experienced enough for several lifetimes. She was the dear wife of John Westlake; beloved mother of her three children: David, Kathy Westlake (husband Ken Chasse) and Tina Chester (husband Paul Chester); proud grandmother of Brandon and Justin Chester; loving daughter of Bruce and the late Phyllis Ross; devoted sister to the late Jim Ross and sister-in-law to Bill Westlake; and a great friend to so many.
Shirley was a teacher, a charitable fundraiser, and an adventurer. She brought passion and joy to everything she did, and love and comfort to everyone she touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Shirley during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, October 8 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Forest Hill United Church, 121 Westmount Rd. E., Kitchener (where she has been an active member for many years) on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. A reception will follow at the church.
