I first met Ann and Roger when Joan organized a trip to the Calgary Stampede. We all had a riot in Calgary, and shared a great day at my family's farm by the North Saskatchewan River, West of Stony Plain. Ryan swam in the river with my daughter Haley, and a couple years later, Ann and Roger visited us at our house and we had a great dinner and hot tub night. I never dreamed in my worst night mare that I wouldn't see our Annie again....it doesn't seem possible. I love you all, and you all have a home in my house whether in Denver or where we might end up. If you look up the word "family", I think you'd see a picture of Ann there. I've known her for about 12 years and she was the proudest wife, Mom, and Gramma I've ever met. She was so incredibly proud of her kids and was 'over the moon' when she became a Gramma. Our sons are the same age so it was great talking about some of the shenanigans the boys could get into at their age. We'd roll our eyes and laugh like crazy. I'm going to miss seeing that amazing smile every day when I show up at my desk. My heartfelt sympathy goes to Rodger, Lori, Courtney, Cayley and Ryan. Find strength in knowing how incredibly loved you were and you now have the most amazing Angel watching over your families ... always.

After Carter was born, we were able to witness first-hand how important it was for Ann to remain a source of strength, hope and love for her family and how good she was at this. Her children, and by extension her grandchildren, were always her number one priority. She never missed an opportunity to brag about her kids! It's not often you find a mom who wants to be very involved in her kids' lives but, at the same time, encourages them to find their own way. Ann was an expert at building and nurturing relationships. Though her time with us was short, the Pistol Annies are a testament to the significant number of people she touched while she was here. And isn't that what it's all about! I met Ann for the first time when we both won a trip to Jamaica through the local radio station CHYM. I had not known her before this, but we became such great friends since then. We had a lot of great laughs during that trip which will give me some very happy memories of her to treasure. There was one day in particular where we said the men had to wait on us and we were not getting out of the pool. It was our day to just relax and drink away our cares. That was truly a day to remember.
She was always talking about her family with such love. They meant the world to her. I will miss our talks and her laughter.

Rodger & family, Our hearts are broken for you at this stunning loss of Ann, the cornerstone of family and friendship. I will remember Annie as a best friend for many years and as a surrogate mom to Colin when he and Ryan practically lived together, splitting their time 50/50 between our house and yours. We had a thousand laughs over the years and I will miss her always smiling face. Family was the main focus of her life as can be seen in how you have all become wonderful adults, spouses, mothers and friends. We feel blessed to have known your mom for so many years.
