Obituary of Joseph Doerner
With saddened hearts we announce the sudden passing of Joseph (Poppa Joe) on Monday, December 2, 2013, the loving husband of Doris for 67 years. He was the youngest son of the late Frank and Maria Doerner and brother to the late Frank and Carl Doerner. He leaves behind his sons, Bob (Karen) and Joe (Heather). He was a Poppa extraordinaire to his grandchildren, Aaron, Amber and Mag.
Joe served in the Royal Canadian Navy in WW II on convoy escort. In his continued dedication to the Navy, he became a co-founder and founding President of the K-W Naval Association.
Along with Joe's father and brothers, they enjoyed a long career in the metal stamping business of Frank Doerner and Sons, Doerner Products and Northfield Metal Products.
Joe was a dedicated serviceman and businessman. His true gift was his extreme strength and love that shone on his family.
