Obituary of Ret. Det. Neil Squirrell

SQUIRRELL, Neil Arthur Retired Detective Neil passed away unexpectedly at his home in Kitchener on December 7, 2013 at the age of 64. Loving son of the late Arthur E. and Jean M. Squirrell. Dearest father of Matthew Leighton Squirrell (Stacy) and Emily Loren Squirrell. Dear brother of Robert and his wife Jennifer and uncle to Kathleen Moorhead (Paul) and Bobby Squirrell (Rachel). Neil retired from the Waterloo Regional Police Force after 32 years of dedicated service to the public. He was held in the highest regard by his colleagues and commanded the respect by all that had an opportunity to work with him. Known for his honesty, integrity, diligence and leadership, Neil found his calling as a detective. Above all, Neil was universally acknowledged as a true gentleman. Friends and colleagues are invited to share their memories of Neil with his family during a memorial visitation that will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8p.m. As per Neil's request, there will be no public funeral.
