I am grateful to have met Jack at Central Presbyterian Church in Hamilton and was fortunate enough to have read the book he wrote about his remarkable life. He was such a positive person with an enormous zest for life! His memory will live on and be a source of inspiration for me in my own life! My deepest condolences to his family at this time of loss.

One of my favorite memories of Jack was returning home from a road trip with our McMaster Women's Basketball Team. It was late, close to midnight, and we were just pulling up in our coach bus in front of the Athletic Center. We had just won a big important game ( it may have been a playoff win).
As the bus came to a stop i saw Jack...standing waiting for our bus....he was holding an armful of roses.
As each member of our team got off the bus they received a rose and a hug and a big hearty congratulations from Jack. The players, coaches and staff were blown away.
Wow. He had heard that we won , perhaps listening to the radio broadcast of the game, and had gone right out and bought the flowers and waited for us to get back to present them to each of us. What a thoughtful, amazing gesture. I'll never forget that .

im so saddened to hear of the passing of our good friend Jack. We'll miss him sitting in his favourite front row seat at our McMaster Women's Basketball games. He dropped by my office fairly regularly to say hi and visit and it was always with a big smile, big hug and to share some good stories and laughs. A special man who became a special friend. For me and everyone in our McMaster Women's Basketball Program, we extend our deepest sympathies to Jack's family and friends. We'll miss you Jack.

It is with great sadness that we extend to you our heartfelt condolences. Jack was full of life and always wore a permanent smile . He was consistently positive, encouraging, providing big hugs and guaranteed to make you laugh. He lived life as if every day were his last but never a complaint or negative comment. I had the priviledge of working with Jack at Tiger Brand many years ago and what a great sounding board and mentor he was to me. We will miss his visits to the store and the stories he shared. Even in death we are fortunate that Jack's legacy will live on through his book and the many memories we have. God Bless you Jack Carol, Tom, Stella & Katy
