Dear Lesley, Chris, Gabrielle, Brooke, and Delaney We are so sorry for your loss. We wish that your wonderful memories of your mom and grandma help you in this sad days. Aunt Doreen was a wonderful aunt - and godmother!- over the years. I had the privilege of spending many hours at their home, playing with my cousins and learning things from her. She was a great baker and there are several delicious recipes in my recipe box that come from her. One of the most special things she did was to ice and decorate my wedding cake. The cake had been baked by my mother and Aunt Doreen generously offered to do the decorating. It was simple and beautiful with a top festooned with those delicate sugar roses she was so good at crafting. One of the many lovely memories I will continue to treasure.

I'm so sorry for your lost. Death is truly a tragic thing to deal with. However the bible say that there is going to be a resurrection at Acts 24:15. So we all do have a hope of being reunited with our dead loves ones. (John 5:28,29) We can believe this because God is the creator of life and the one who gave life to all living creatures is certainly capable of restoring life to someone who has died. (Psalm 36:9 ; Acts 17:24,25) He has also resurrected humans in the past and the bible reports eight instances of humans young, old, male and female who were brought back to life on earth. Some had been dead for a short while, but one had been in a tomb for 4 days. (read John 11:39-44) And finally God hates death, he views it as a enemy (1 Corinthians 15:26) He has a longing to conquer that enemy, to undo death by means of this resurrection. He yearns to bring back those who are in his memory and to see them live on earth again, so until that promise is fulfilled may the God Of Comfort be with you during this difficult time. (2 Corinthians 1:3,4)
